Jewelry Care

CHRONIX jewelry is created to be worn and enjoyed. The life and appearance of every piece can be extended through proper and regular care. Follow these basic guidelines to help preserve your jewelry in its best possible condition.

  • Avoid wearing rings and other jewelry while gardening, exercising, playing sports or swimming in salt or chlorinated water.
  • Jewelry can be affected by strong pressure and sudden impact. Remove your pieces before activities that may cause bending, scratching or accidental damage.
  • Remove your jewelry before going to bed, showering or bathing. Keeping plated jewelry dry is especially important because repeated exposure to water can shorten the life of its finish.
  • Perfume, hairspray, lotion and cosmetics can affect the shine and finish of jewelry. Apply these products first and allow them to dry before putting on your CHRONIX pieces.
  • Do not store jewelry in direct sunlight, close to heat or in humid areas such as bathrooms. Keep each piece inside its original CHRONIX box or a separate soft pouch.

Care and Maintenance

Use a soft jewelry-cleaning or microfiber cloth to gently polish fingerprints, light tarnish and dull areas. Avoid using excessive pressure, as repeated aggressive rubbing may affect polished or plated surfaces.

For non-plated pieces that are suitable for water cleaning, use a small amount of mild, neutral soap mixed with lukewarm water. Clean carefully using a very soft brush, rinse thoroughly and dry the piece completely before storing it.

Gold-plated, silver-plated and dark-finished jewelry should be cleaned gently with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Do not apply liquid cleaners unless the individual product instructions specifically confirm that they are suitable.

How Should I Care for Stones and Decorative Details?

Pieces containing stones, crystals, enamel or decorative elements require additional care. Avoid spraying cleaning products, perfume or other chemicals directly onto these areas.

Protect detailed pieces from impact, scratching, continuous rubbing and unnecessary moisture. Do not soak jewelry containing glued, painted or coated decorative elements.

Adjustable rings should be resized slowly and carefully. Repeated or sudden bending can weaken the metal, damage the finish or affect decorative details.

Why Can Jewelry Change Colour?

Some metals naturally react with air, moisture and substances in the surrounding environment. Perfume, chlorine, cosmetics, hairspray, perspiration and individual skin chemistry can also affect the appearance of jewelry.

This reaction may produce dullness, tarnish or a darker surface over time. A change in appearance does not always mean that the material is damaged; it may be a natural surface reaction caused by everyday wear and exposure.

Regular gentle cleaning and correct storage can help reduce these changes and preserve the finish for longer.

How Can I Restore the Shine?

Begin with the gentlest method. Use a clean cloth designed for the specific material and polish the jewelry lightly until fingerprints and surface dullness are reduced.

  • Stainless-steel and suitable non-plated pieces: use mild neutral soap, lukewarm water and a very soft brush before rinsing and drying completely.
  • Plated pieces: use only a clean, dry microfiber cloth and avoid excessive rubbing.
  • Stone, enamel or detailed pieces: clean around decorative areas carefully without soaking the jewelry.
Important

Avoid toothpaste, bleach, abrasive powders, rough brushes, vinegar, baking soda and household cleaning products. These methods may scratch surfaces or damage plating, coatings, stones and adhesives.

How Should I Store My Jewelry?

Clean and dry your jewelry before storing it. Place each piece separately inside its CHRONIX box, a soft pouch or a lined jewelry compartment to reduce scratching and contact with other metals.

Close necklace and bracelet clasps before storage and lay chains flat to help prevent knots. Keep all jewelry away from direct sunlight, high temperatures and humid environments.

Product-Specific Care

Materials and finishes may vary between CHRONIX products. Instructions listed on an individual product page should always take priority over this general care guide.
